



This project consisted of in-place replacement of the Third Ave. Bridge between Bronx and Manhattan. It required the fabrication and erection of a 350ft new swing span, installation of more than 100,000 ft. of piles, placement of more than 30,000 cubic yards of structural concrete, design and construction of a temporary bridge, fabrication and installation of mechanical and electrical systems for the operation of the new swing span. This project received AISC / NSBA’s 2005 – Merit Award as well as 2005 – Best Bridge Project Award from NY Construction Magazine.
